Abstract

Fact sheet clarifying that Emergency Contraception is contraception and not an abortifacient (causing an abortion).

Description

Emergency Contraception works post-intercourse but pre-implantation to prevent a pregnancy and thus acts as a contraceptive. Everyone from the Bush administration’s FDA to the National Right to Life Council considers Plan B and other EC to be contraception – clearly distinct from RU-486, the medical abortion pill.
